Things to do in Ottawa this Weekend! Beginning May 3, 2018.

May in Ottawa kicks off with a great list of special, spring events! Here is a list of activities happening in and around Ottawa this weekend, beginning May 3, 2018:

  • See the city with Lady Dive Amphibus and Grayline Hop-On, Hop-Off which are now officially underway in Ottawa for the summer season!
  • Film lovers will enjoy this weekend of film festivals as the Latin American Film Festival begins at the Ottawa Art Gallery (now through May 31) and the European Union Short Film Festival takes place at Arts Court (Thursday, May 3 to Saturday, May 5).
  • Jane’s Walk takes over Ottawa this weekend with the Jane’s Walk Ottawa-Gatineau Launch Party on Thursday, May 3 and free neighbourhood walking tours throughout the city on Saturday, May 5 and Sunday, May 6! FREE!
  • Check out the new exhibition at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum! Beyond Planet Earth explores the solar system and beyond with a moon habitat, NASA’s Curiosity Mars rover, and lots more. The exhibition opens this Friday, May 4 and continues until early September.
  • 613flea returns to Lansdowne this Saturday, May 5 – visit the Aberdeen Pavilion for handmade goods, independent boutiques, and more fun finds! Admission is FREE!
  • Know an avid stamp collector? Ottawa’s national stamp shop, ORAPEX, comes to the RA Centre this Saturday, May 5 and Sunday, May 6.
  • The Ottawa Farmers Market returns to its summer-season location outside the Aberdeen Pavilion at Lansdowne, starting this Sunday, May 6 and continuing Sundays during the summer. Admission is FREE!
  • The CN Cycle for CHEO, an annual event which helps kids with cancer, is back this year on Sunday, May 6. Watch for road closures around the downtown area, including Wellington Street, Queen Elizabeth Drive, the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway, and other major roads.
  • Take part in Clean Up the Capital – ByWard Market Edition this Sunday, May 6 and help community organizations give the market a spring cleaning! FREE!
